A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 68R -255
FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT PUBLIC CONVENIENCE
AND NECESSITY REQUIRE THE FURNISHING, INSTALLA-
TION AND COMPLETION OF A PUBLIC IMPROVEMMENT, TO
WIT: AUTOMATIC FIRE SPRINKLER SYSTEMS, AND
CONTINGENT ITEM OF SMOKE DETECTOR SYSTEMS, FOR
THE ANAHEIM CONVENTION CENTER, 800 WEST KATELLA
AVENUE, WORK ORDER NO. 249, BY EXTENDING THE
TIME FOR THE OPENING OF SEALED PROPOSALS; AND
AUTHORIZING THE CITY CLERK TO PUBLISH A NOTICE
OF SAID CHANGE OF DATE FOR THE OPENING OF SEALED
PROPOSALS.
WHEREAS, the City Council did on May 14, 1968, adopt
its Resolution No. 68R -255 finding and determining that public
convenience and necessity require the furnishing, installation
and completion of a public improvement, to wit:
Automatic Fire Sprinkler Systems, and Contingent Item
of Smoke Detector Systems, for the Anaheim Convention
Center, 800 West Katella Avenue, in the City of Anaheim,
Work Order No. 249, in accordance with the and conforming
in general to preliminary plans and specifications prepared
by the Public Works Department of the City of Anaheim,
and on file in the Office of the City Engineer, detailed
plans, drawings and specifications conforming thereto to
be submitted by the bidder, and the cost thereof to be
included in the lump sum bid.
and authorizing the City Clerk to publish a notice'accarding to
law, inviting sealed proposals for the furnishing of all plant,
labor, services, materials, etc., for the furnishing, installa-
tion and completion of said public improvement, and fixing the
6th day of June, 1968 at the hour of 2:00 o'clock P.M. as the
date and hour for the opening of said bids; and
WHEREAS, the City Council does find and determine that
the date fixed for the opening of said sealed proposals, June 6th,
does not give the contractors sufficient time to prepare their
proposals on said public improvement, and that the time for
opening sealed proposals should, therefore, be extended.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Anaheim that Resolution No. 68R -255 be, and the same
is hereby amended by extending the time for the opening of sealed
proposals for the public improvement therein described to June 20,
1968 at the hour of 2:00 o'clock P.M.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk be, and she
is hereby authorized to publish a notice according to law, in the
Anaheim Bulletin, giving notice of the change of date for the
opening of sealed proposals in connection with the above mentioned
public improvement.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and signed by me
this 5th day of June, 1968.
