1968-179B.LSOLJTIOi NO. 68R-179 A RE'SOLUTIO.'v OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAIiEI-i CHAdGING THE NAME OF A PORTION OF JEFFERSON STREET TO TUSTIN AVENUE. WHEREAS, the Tustin Avenue- Jefferson Street -Linda Vista -Rose Drive alignment is a continuous highway extending a distance of 12 -1/4 miles, commencing at First Avenue in Tustin on the south and extending to Brea-Olinda Boulevard in Brea on the north; and WHEREAS, on March 11, 1968, the City Planning Commis- sion did adopt its Resolution No. PC68 -71 recommending to the City Council that in order to establish continuity in the names of streets as they traverse the County and in view of the advan- tage that will accrue to the City of Anaheim in terms of freeway signing, the names of Jefferson Street southerly of the River- side Freeway and Jefferson Street extending northerly of the Riverside Freeway to a point approximately 845 feet south of the center line of Coronado Avenue, and the proposed Jefferson- Linda Vista Street alignment north of the Riverside Freeway extending to the Anaheim City limits, be changed to Tustin Avenue, and that said change be made at such time as the Jefferson- Linda Vista Street alignment is completed to Orangethorpe Avenue; and WHEREAS, the Orange County Street Naming Committee has recommended that the na=me '`Tustin Avenue" be assigned to that portion of said street alignment southerly of the Riverside Free- way, and the name 'Linda Vista Street` to the 4 -3/4 miles ,portion northerly of the Riverside Freeway; and WHEREAS, after a thoroug h study= of the matter, the City Council does find that the assignment of the name "Tustin Avenue" to Jefferson Street southerly of the Riverside Freeway and Jeffer- son Street extending northerly of the Riverside Freeway to a point approximately 845 feet south of the center line of Coronado Ave- nue, and the proposed Jefferson -Linda Vista Street alignment north of the Riverside Freeway extending to the Anaheim City limits, will result in less confusion to the public, and that by reason of the foregoing facts, public convenience and necessity require that said names be chanced. r� Fi R) BL IT i`4 11YZ v� I1 KESOLV`_:J by the City Council Of the City of Anaheim that the names of Jefferson Street southerly of the Riverside Freeway and Jefferson Street extending northerly of the Riverside Freeway to a point approximately 845 feet south of the center line of Coronado Avenue, and the proposed Jefferson_ Linda Vista Street align=ment north of the Riverside Freeway ex- tending to the Anaheim City limits, be changed to Tustin Avenue at such time as the Jefferson-Linda Vista Street alignment is completed to Orangethorie Avenue.
