RESOLUTION NO. 68R- 164
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ANAHEIM PROHIBITING U -TURNS AT THE INTERSECTION
OF LINCOLN AVENUE AND CRESCENT WAY IN THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM.
WHEREAS, a request has been made by the Division of
Highways to prohibit U -turns at the intersection of Lincoln
Avenue and Crescent Way in the City of Anaheim, due to the
excessive number of accidents caused by U- turning at this inter-
section during the year 1967; and
WHEREAS, Section 22101(a) of the Vehicle Code of the
State of California authorizes local authorities in respect
to highways under their respective jurisdictions, to cause
official traffic control devices to be placed or erected within
or adjacent to intersections to regulate or prohibit turning
movements at such intersections;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Anaheim that it shall be unlawful for the driver of
any vehicle to make a U -turn at the intersection of Lincoln
Avenue and Crescent Way in the City of Anaheim.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Chief of Police of the
City of Anaheim be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to
place and maintain at said intersection appropriate signs desig-
nating the provisions hereof.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this resolution shall go
into effect immediately upon approval, in writing, by the Depart-
ment of Public Works of the State of California.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and signed by me
this 5th day of March, 1968.
