A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ANAHEIM APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION
OF AN AGREEMENT WITH THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA,
DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS, DIVISION OF HIGHWAYS,
WITH REFERENCE TO THE MODIFICATION AND MAINTENANCE
OF A TRAFFIC CONTROL SIGNAL SYSTEM AND HIGHWAY
LIGHTING AT THE INTERSECTION OF BALL ROAD WITH
STATE HIGHWAY ROUTE Ora -72 0.8 (ANAHEIM BOULEVARD)
AND MODIFICATION OF CHANNELIZATION ON ANAHEIM
BOULEVARD.
WHEREAS, the State of California and the City of
Anaheim contemplate the joint modification of a traffic control
signal system and highway lighting at the intersection of Ball
Road with State Highway Route Ora -72 0.8 (Anaheim Boulevard) and
modification of channelization on Anaheim Boulevard within the
City of Anaheim, and desire to enter into an agreement specify-
ing the proportionate share of the costs that are to be borne
by the City and the State and providing for the maintenance
thereof; and
WHEREAS, the State of California has submitted to the
City Agreement No. 2250 providing for the modification of said
traffic control signal system and highway lighting and channel-
ization, specifying the proportionate share of the costs to be
borne by the City and the State and arranging for the maintenance
thereof, as more particularly set forth in said agreement; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that it would be for
the benefit and best interest of the City to enter into said
agreement with the State and that the same should be approved.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Anaheim that Agreement No. 2250 submitted to the
City by the State of California, Department of Public Works,
Division of Highways, providing for the modification of a traffic
control signal system and highway lighting at the intersection
of Ball Road with State Highway Route Ora -72 0.8 (Anaheim
Boulevard) and modification of channelization on Anaheim Boule-
vard, within the City of Anaheim, upon the terms and conditions
and for the proportionate share of the costs set forth therein,
be and the same is hereby approved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Clerk
be, and they are hereby authorized to execute said agreement
for and on behalf of the City of Anaheim.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Finance Director be,
and he is hereby authorized and directed to reimburse the State
for the City's proportionate share of the cost of general mainte-
nance and operation of said traffic control signal system and
highway lighting in the manner provided in that Agreement for
Maintenance of State Highways in the City which is in effect at
the time said costs arise, as provided in said Agreement No.
2250.
