A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM REQUESTING THE COUNTY OF ORANGE
TO INCLUDE WITHIN THE ARTERIAL HIGHWAY FINANCING
PROGRAM CERTAIN HIGHWAY IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS.
(1978 -1979)
WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim desires to improve
the following streets:
Anaheim Boulevard Haster Street Overcrossing of the
Santa Ana Freeway.
Cerritos Avenue -State College Boulevard to Anaheim Boulevard.
Cerritos Avenue at State College Boulevard.
Katella Avenue -Santa Ana River to Haster Street.
Lincoln Avenue -State College Boulevard to East Street.
Euclid Street Katella Avenue to 150' S/o Ord Way.
WHEREAS, the aforementioned streets are important
arteries in the County of Orange and of general County interest;
and
WHEREAS, Article 2 and Article 3, Chapter 9, Division 2
of the Streets and Highways Code authorizes a County, if it so
desires, to expend funds apportioned to it out of the California
Highway Users Tax Fund for aid to any City in the improvement,
construction or repair of a street within a City; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors intends to, by
appropriate action, provide in the County of the Special
Road Improvement Fund for the Fiscal Year 1978 -1979 a sum
of money for the improvement of streets within the
incorporated cities of the County in accordance with the Orange
County Arterial Highway Financing Program.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Anaheim that the City of Anaheim requests,
and it does hereby request, the Board of Supervisors of the
County of Orange to allocate to the City of Anaheim, from
County funds, the amounts set forth below, said amounts to
be matched by funds from said City, to be used to aid said
City in the improvement of the streets set forth herein and
for the acquisition of necessary rights -of -way; said improvements
and acquisition of rights -of -way and the specific amounts in
connection with each project are as set forth below:
$160,000 Anaheim Boulevard Haster Street Overcrossing of
the Santa Ana Freeway.
This is a right of way acquisition project. It is
the first of a two stage project to construct an
overcrossing of the Santa Ana Freeway. The
construction project is scheduled for the 1979 -1980
fiscal year.

Cerritos Avenue -State College Boulevard to Anaheim
Boulevard
and
State College Boulevard Cerritos Avenue to 300' southerly.
The scope of this project is to construct curb, gutter
and sidewalk and widen the streets to ultimate and
rejuvenate and overlay or reconstruct the existing
roadway. Included is the construction of a master
planned storm drain facility.
Cerritos Avenue at State College Boulevard.
The scope of this project is to acquire the right of
way needed to widen the southwest corner of
Cerritos Avenue at State College Boulevard to ultimate
width.
Katella Avenue -Santa Ana River to Haster Street.
The scope of this project is to rejuvenate and overlay
the existing pavement to return the roadway to an
acceptable service life. Included is the
signalization of two intersections and the installation
of signal interconnect.
Lincoln Avenue -State College Boulevard to East Street.
The scope of this project is to rejuvenate and overlay
the existing pavement to return the roadway to an
acceptable service life. Included is the modification
of existing traffic signalization, installation of
signal interconnect, and the construction of a master
planned storm drain.
Euclid Street- Katella Avenue to 150' S/o Ord Way.
This is a cooperative project with the City of
Garden Grove, and the City of Garden Grove is acting
as the lead agency. The scope of the project is
the reconstruction of the roadway to return it to an
acceptable service level.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors
of the County of Orange is hereby requested to find that said
works and acquisition of rights -of -way as set forth above
are in the general County interest.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that by this resolution that
the City of Anaheim agrees with the basic concepts of the
Arterial Highways Financing Program; and further agrees
that its share of the cost of improvements and rights -of -way
will be available for the Fiscal Year 1978 -1979.
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk
be, and she is hereby, authorized and directed to forward
a certified copy of this resolution to the Board of Supervisors
of Orange County, California, and a certified copy to the
County Surveyor and Road Commissioner at 400 Civic Center
Drive West, Santa Ana, California.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and adopted
by the City Council of the City of Anaheim this 27th day of
December 1977.
