AUTHORIZING AN AGREEMENT FOR i L:i.HGER OF CONTRACTS OF THE SAN GABRIEL VALLEY
MUNICIPAL DATA SYSTEM AND THE CITY OF ANAHEIM WITH THE BOARD OF ADMINISTRA-
TION, PUBLIC EMPLOYEES' RETIREMENT SYSTEM.
WHEREAS, the BOARD OF DIRECTORS of the SAN GABRIEL VAT,TzY MUNICIPAL DATA SYSTEM and
the CITY COUNCIL of the CITY OF ANAHEIM entered into contracts with the
Board of Administration, Public Employees' Retirement System, effective
July 30, 1973 and September 1, 1950 respectively, providing for participation
of their employees in said System; and
WHEREAS, the SAN GABRIEL VALLEY MUNICIPAL DATA SYSTEM intends to continue to exist in
name only, having transferred its function and employees to the City of
Anaheim; and
WHEREAS, the CITY OF ANAHEIM is employing one or more of the employees of SAN GABRTT,
VAI.TF,Y MUNICIPAL DATA SYSTEM within 90 days after this agreement; and
WHEREAS, Section 20567.6 of the Government Code authorizes a merger of contracts for
participation in the Public Employees' Retirement System where one contracting
agency intends to continue to exist in name only, and one or more employees
of that agency are employed by-the successor agency within 90 days of the
merger agreement; and
WHEREAS,
the Public Employees' Retirement System has proposed an agreement to be
accepted and executed by the governing bodies of the aforementioned public
agencies to provide for merger of the contract between the SAN GABRIEL
VALLEY MUNICIPAL DATA SYSTEM and the Board of Administration, Public Employees'
Retirement System, into the contract between the CITY OF ANAHEIM and said
Board;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the governing bodies of the aforementioned public
agencies authorize, and do hereby authorize, an agreement between the SAN
GABRIEL VALLEY MUNICIPAL DATA SYSTEM, CITY OF ANAHEIM, and the Board of Admin-
istration, Public Employees' Retirement System, for the merger of the contract
between said Board and the SAN GABRIEL VALLEY MUNICIPAL DATA SYSTEM into the
contract between said Board and the CITY OF ANAHEIM as authorized by Section
20567.6 of the Government Code, a copy of said agreement being attached hereto
marked "Exhibit" and by this reference incorporated herein and made a part
hereof; and be it
FURTHER RESOLVED, that the presiding officers of the governing bodies of the afore-
mentioned public agencies are and are hereby authorized, empowered and directed
to execute said Agreement for and on behalf of aforementioned public agencies.
