A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM DISAPPROVING LEASED HOUSING WITHIN
THE CITY OF ANAHEIM BY ANY HOUSING AUTHORITY
OTHER THAN THE ANAHEIM HOUSING AUTHORITY.
WHEREAS, the Anaheim Housing Authority is
engaged in providing leased housing within the City of
Anaheim to qualified tenants; and
WHEREAS, the Anaheim Housing Authority is able
to adequately provide for the leased housing needs of the
City of Anaheim; and
WHEREAS, the Orange County Housing Authority is
considering a program to provide leased housing in the City
of Anaheim; and
WHEREAS, Section 34312.5 of the Health and Safety
Code provides that leased housing may not be provided within
the area of operation of another authority if the local
governing body of the other authority disapproves in advance.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council
of the City of Anaheim, that pursuant to Section 34312.5 of
the Health and Safety Code, the operation of leased housing
within the City of Anaheim by any housing authority other
than the Anaheim Housing Authority be, and is hereby,
disapproved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk be, and
she is hereby directed to forward a copy of this resolution
to the Orange County Housing Authority.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and adopted by
the City Council of the City of Anaheim this 20th day of
December 1977.
