1977-806RESOLUTION NO. 77R- 806 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM AMENDING PERSONNEL RULE 21, JURY DUTY AND RESCINDING RESOLUTION NO. 68R -433 AND AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 63R -910. WHEREAS, the Personnel Director has met and conferred with officials and employee representatives of recognized employee organizations to discuss wages and hours of work, and WHEREAS, as a result thereof, the need exists to rescind Resolution No. 68R -433 and to amend Resolution No. 63R -910, Personnel Rule 21, which established Jury Duty Provisions, and, WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Anaheim does find that adoption of the recommended new provisions are in the best interests of the City of Anaheim. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Anaheim that Resolution No. 68R -433, Personnel Rule 21, be rescinded and Resolution No. 63R -910, Personnel Rule 21, Jury Duty, be amended to read as follows: RULE 21. JURY DUTY AND COURT APPEARANCES Section 21.0 In the event any employee in the classified service is duly summoned to any court for the purpose of performing jury duty, he shall receive his regular compensation for any regularly scheduled working hours spent in actual performance of such service. 21.1 Whenever an employee is duly summoned to appear as a witness, except where the employee is a litigant or a defendant in criminal case or any action brought about as a result of his own misconduct, he shall receive his regular compensation for any regularly scheduled working hours spent in actual performance of such service. 21.11 Whenever an employee in any of the Police Department job classes listed in Section 15.2 is summoned to appear as a witness for court matters within the scope of his employment, he shall be compensated in accordance with provisions concerning compensation for normal performance of duties. 21.12 Employees receiving witness fees shall remit such fees to the Collection Officer in order to be considered at work for payroll purposes during time spent as such witnesses. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that except to the extent amended Resolution No. 63R -910 shall remain in full force and effect.
