A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ANAHEIM AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 76R -179, PERTAINING
TO RULE 6, PREMIUM PAY, BY ADDING SECTION 6.9.
WHEREAS, the Personnel Director has met and conferred with
officials and employee representatives of the International Brotherhood
of Electrical Workers, Local Union No. 47, the Anaheim Municipal Employees
Association, and the Anaheim Fire Association to discuss wages, hours and
working conditions, and
WHEREAS, as a result thereof, the need exists to amend Resolution
No. 76R -179 which established premium pay provisions, and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Anaheim does find that
adoption of the recommended new provision is in the best interests of the
City of Anaheim.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City
of Anaheim that Resolution No. 76R -179 pertaining to premium pay be and
the same is hereby amended to read as follows:
Section 6.9 Employees required to speak, read and /or write in Spanish
as well as English as part of the regular duties of their
position will be compensated at the rate of twenty five dollars
($25.00) per month in addition to their regular pay.
6.91 The appropriate department head shall designate which
positions shall be assigned bi- lingual duties.
6.92 The Personnel Director shall conduct a test of compe-
tency for employees whose positions have been assigned
bi- lingual duties to certify these employees eligible
for bi- lingual pay.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that except to the extent amended,
Resolution No. 76R -179 shall remain in full force and effect, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the effective date of this Resolution
shall be October 14, 1977.
