RESOLUTION NO. 79R- 226
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM APPROVING AMENDMENTS TO THE PLAN
DOCUMENT FOR THE CITY SELF FUNDED MEDICAL
PLAN IN CONNECTION WITH BENEFITS FOR MATERNITY
CARE AND AUTHORIZING THE HUMAN RESOURCES
DIRECTOR TO SIGN SAID AMENDMENTS.
WHEREAS, on October 31, 1978, President Carter
signed into law an amendment to Title VII of the Civil
Rights Act of 1964, (Public Law 95 555) which requires
employers with health benefit plans to provide coverage for
obstetrical care in the same manner as coverage for other
conditions under such health benefit plan; and
WHEREAS, the effective date for implementation of
said amendment is April 29, 1979; and
WHEREAS, certain Amendments to the City's benefit
plans are required to bring such plans into compliance
with the federal law; and
WHEREAS, such amendments have been prepared, the
terms of which are acceptable to the City Council of the
City of Anaheim.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Anaheim that the Amendments to the Plan
Document for the City Self Funded Medical Plan so as to com-
ply with Public Law 95 555 are hereby approved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Human Resources
Director be, and he is hereby authorized and directed to sign
such Amendments on behalf of the City of Anaheim.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and adopted by
the City Council of the City of Anaheim this 24th day of
April 1979.
