A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM ENDORSING THE NOMINATION OF COUNCIL
MEMBER DON R. ROTH TO THE AIR QUALITY MANAGEMENT
CONTROL BOARD AND URGING SUPPORT OF COUNCIL
MEMBER ROTH'S ELECTION TO THE AIR QUALITY MAN-
AGEMENT CONTROL BOARD FROM THE OTHER CITIES OF
ORANGE COUNTY.
WHEREAS, Council Member Don R. Roth has been nominated
to the Air Quality Management Control Board; and
WHEREAS, he has served on the Anaheim City Council from
January, 1971 to April, 1972 and was elected to a four -year term
in 1976; and
WHEREAS, he has been active in local and county civic
affairs for a number of years; and
WHEREAS, he has served as President of the Anaheim Board
of Realtors in 1967, a Regional Vice President of the California
Association of Realtors in 1969 and a member of the Advisory Com-
mittee for California's Department of Housing and Community Devel-
opment from 1971 to 1972; and
WHEREAS, he has contributed greatly to the continuing
growth and development of Anaheim, recognizing the needs for
strong, progressive leadership with extreme sensitivity toward
long range planning and programming; and his extensive background
and dedication are proven factors which will be an asset to each
of our cities by Council Member Don R. Roth's service on the Air
Quality Management Control Board; and
WHEREAS, he was one of the thirteen original voting mem-
bers on the Anaheim Charter Committee, a group of citizens who
drafted. the Anaheim City Charter in 1963 and 1964 at a time when
our City was experiencing one of the most dramatic growth explo-
sions ever recorded in Orange County history; and that leadership
has been reflected in the orderly expansion and growth for the
County's most populated city; and
WHEREAS, the future of orderly and logical growth depends
on the selection of a proven leader; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Anaheim does
urge all of the cities of Orange County to support Council Member
Don R. Roth at the meeting of the City Selection Committee on
April 19, 1979.
I?OW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Anaheim that it endorses and urges support from the
other cities of Orange County in the election of Council ;Member
Don R. Roth to the Air Quality Management Control Board.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk is hereby
directed to send copies of this resolution to all cities of Orange
County.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and adopted by the
City Council of the City of Anaheim this 10th day of April, 1979.
