A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ANAHEIM AUTHORIZING THE CITY, THROUGH ITS PARKS,
RECREATION AND COMMUNITY SERVICES DEPARTMENT, TO
SUBMIT A GRANT APPLICATION TO ACTION FOR FUNDS TO
IMPLEMENT A COMPREHENSIVE HUMAN SERVICES VOLUNTEER
PROGRAM IN ANAHEIM, AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER OR ITS DESIGNATED REPRESENTATIVE TO EXECUTE
ALL NECESSARY APPLICATIONS AND DOCUMENTS IN
CONNECTION THEREWITH.
WHEREAS, federal funds have become available
from ACTION, the federal agency for voluntarism, to be
utilized for innovative volunteer demonstration projects;
and
WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim, through its Parks,
Recreation and Community Services Department, desires to
submit an application for funds to said agency for use in
the implementation of a comprehensive Human Services
Volunteer Program in Anaheim; and
WHEREAS, said grant funds would be utilized to
fund a Volunteer Programs Coordinator position in the City
for a period of one year with subsequent employment to be
contingent upon additional funding.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City
Council of the City of Anaheim hereby approves the filing
of an application with ACTION for grant funds in the amount
of $18,923.00 to implement a comprehensive Human Services
Volunteer Program within the City of Anaheim.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager, or
his designated representative, is hereby authorized and
directed to execute all necessary applications and other
documents for said grant funds.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and adopted
by the City Council of the City of Anaheim this 10th day of
April 1979.
