A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM APPROVING AN AGREEMENT FOR TITLE
INSURANCE AND TITLE SERVICES IN CONNECTION
WITH CERTAIN CITY OWNED PROPERTY.
WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim owns a certain Portion of
real property generally bounded by Katella Avenue on the north;
State College Boulevard on the West; OrangethorPe Avenue on the
south and Route 57 on the east commonly known as the Stadium prop-
erty consisting of approximately 150 acres more or less; and
WHEREAS, City has leased a major portion of this prop-
erty for development of a stadium and certain other commercial
uses; and
WHEREAS, such development will ultimately necessitate
multiple owners, leases, and the need for multiple title insurance
policies, guarantees and endorsements on the various parcels at
different times; and
WHEREAS, the City may effect considerable savings for
its citizens if it enters into a contractual arrangement with
Title Insurance and Trust Company, a corporation, to furnish the
multiple title policies that will be needed on the property; and
WHEREAS, a title policy is necessary for the sale of
the bonds for the construction of the Stadium by CITY OF ANAHEIM
(CALIFORNIA) INC. and a considerable savings may be realized by
said contract for said Corporation; and
WHEREAS, an agreement for title insurance and title
services for the Stadium properties has this day been submitted,
the terms and conditions whereof are satisfactory to the City;
and
WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the City of
Anaheim to enter into said agreement.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Anaheim that the terms and conditions of an agreement
with Title Insurance and Trust Company to furnish title insurance
and title services in connection with the Stadium property be,
and the same are hereby, approved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Clerk
be, and they are hereby, authorized to execute said agreement on
behalf of the City of Anaheim.
