A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM APPROVING THE APPLICATION FOR A
CERTIFICATE OF CONSENT TO SELF INSURE FOR
WORKERS' COMPENSATION LIABILITY AND AUTHOR-
IZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE SAID
APPLICATION ON BEHALF OF THE CITY COUNCIL
AND TO FILE SAID APPLICATION WITH THE DEPART
MENT OF INDUSTRIAL RELATIONS OF THE STATE OF
CALIFORNIA.
WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim has been legally
uninsured as to Workers' Compensation liability since
September 1, 1974; and
WHEREAS, Assembly Bill No. 840 was passed by the
California State Legislature and became effective on
January 1, 1979; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to said Assembly Bill No. 840,
political subdivisions of the State who were legally unin-
sured prior to the effective date of said Assembly Bill
No. 840 are required to secure from the Director of
Industrial Relations a Certificate to Self- Insure against
Workers' Compensation claims; and
WHEREAS, to secure said Certificate of Consent to
Self- Insure against Workers' Compensation claims, an
Application for a Certificate of Consent to Self Insure must
be filed with the Director of Industrial Relations, State of
California; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Anaheim
desires to approve said Application for a Certificate of
Consent to Self- Insure and to authorize the City Manager of
the City of Anaheim to sign and file the said Application
for a Certificate of Consent to Self Insure on behalf of the
City of Anaheim.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council
of the City of Anaheim does hereby approve the Application for
a Certificate of Consent to Self Insure for Workers' Compensa-
tion liability.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Anaheim that the City Manager of the City of Anaheim

be, and he is hereby, authorized to sign and file the Applica-
tion for a Certificate of Consent to Self- Insure pursuant to
Assembly Bill No. 840.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and adopted by
the City Council of the City of Anaheim this 27th day of
February, 1979.
