1979-083RESOLUTION JO. 79R- 83 A RESOLUTIOL OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM, CALIFOR TIA, REQUESTING THE CON MENCcMENT OF PROCEEDINGS FOR THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY DESIGNATED AS WINSTON -SUN IST MUTElATI0N. WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim desires to annex into its boundaries certain unincorporated and uninhabited territory as hereinafter described; and WHEREAS, said City desires to extend the full range of municipal services to said territory in order to better serve the needs of said property, its owners and inhabitants; and WHEREAS, said City desires this resolution to be deemed a resolution of application proposing a change of organization pursuant to Sections 35140 and 35110 of the Government Code of the State of California. NOW, THERJFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Anaheim as follows: 1. That the within proposal is made pursuant to the Municipal Organization Act of 1977 as set forth in Title 4, Division 2, Part 2 of the Government Code of the State of California. 2. That the nature of the proposed change of organization is for the annexation of the hereinafter described 7.63 acres of unin- corporated and uninhabited territory to the City of Anaheim. 3. That said unincorporated and uninhabited territory be, and the same is hereby, designated as "Winston- Sunkist Annexation" to the City of Anaheim, and the boundaries of said affected terri- tory are legally described as follows: That parcel of land located in the County of Orange, State of California, described as follows: Beginning at a point in the existing City limit line of the City of Anaheim, said point being in the South- east corner of the Ball-Sunkist No. 5 Annexation bound- ary line to the City of Anaheim, said point of beginning also being a point in the Westerly Annexation boundary line of the Ball Sunkist No. 6 Annexation to said City, said Westerly line being in a curve concave Northwest- erly and having a radius of 970 feet, a radial line bearing S 83° 38' 54" East passes through said point of beginning; thence leaving said Ball Sunkist No. 5 Annexation boundary line and following along the West- erly Annexation boundary line of said Ball Sunkist No. 6 Southwesterly along said curve through a central angle of 43 25' 17" an arc distance of 735.11 feet to the beginning of a reverse curve concave Southeasterly and having a radius of 1030 feet; thence Southwesterly along said reverse curve through a central angle of 3 48' 33" -1- an arc distance of 63.47 feet to an intersection with a line parallel with and 20 feet Southerly of the centerline of Winston Road, a radial line bearing N 44° 02' 10" W passes thru said point. Said point of intersection also being, a point in the Northerly Annexation boundary line of the Cerritos Wasser Annex- ation to said City of Anaheim; thence N 89 45' 36" 222.37 feet leaving said Ball- Sunkist No. 6 Annexation boundary line and following along said parallel line also being a portion of the Northerly Annexation bound- ary line of said Cerritos Wasser Annexation to the Northwesterly corner of said Annexation boundary. Said Northwest corner also being the Southeast corner of the Omega Winston Annexation to said City; thence North 0° 13' 40" W 673.53 feet leaving the aforementioned Annex- ation boundary line and following along the easterly line of the Omega Winston Annexation boundary line to an intersection with a line parallel with and 25 feet Southerly of the centerline of Omega Avenue. Said point of intersection also being a point in the South- erly line of the Ball-Sunkist No. 4 Annexation to said City; thence S 89° 58' 35" E 613.56 feet along said parallel line leaving said Omega- Winston Annexation boundary line and following along the Southerly Annexa- tion boundary line of both said Ball Sunkist No. 4 and Ball- Sunkist No. 5 Annexation to said City of Anaheim to the point of beginning. A map showing the aforesaid boundaries and designated "Winston Sunkist Annexation" is submitted concurrently with and accompanies this Resolution. 4. That the reasons for the proposed change of organization are as follows: a. Requests by the owners of said unincorporated territory for annexation to the City of Anaheim; and b. To provide full municipal services to an unin- corporated area that is remote from County service facilities and thereby increase the economy and efficiency of urban services. 5. That the City of Anaheim is hereby designated as the chief petitioner with regard to this application and the mailing address of said petitioner is as follows: City of Anaheim c/o Planning Director Post Office Box 3222 Anaheim, California 92803 6. That the City of Anaheim does hereby request that annexa- tion proceedings be taken and cor_lmenced for a change of organization in connection with the hereinabove described unincorporated terri- tory pursuant to the provisions of said Municipal Organization Act of 1977. THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and adopted by the City Council of the City of Anaheim this 1301 da of February 1979.
