1979-082WHEREAS, the West Orange County cities have consistently
voiced their objection to any commercial or general aviation use
of the Armed Forces Reserve Center (AFRC) airports; and
WHEREAS, any commercial or general aviation use of the
AFRC airport would adversely affect these cities and their citizens;
and
WHEREAS, these communities have processed land develop
ment plans under the assumption that commercial and general aviation
use would be precluded from this airport; and
WHEREAS, the Southern California Association of Governments
(SCAG) has established a committee to review the air transportation
patterns of the Southern California Basin; and
WHEREAS, it is quite likely that this committee will con-
sider commercial and general aviation uses at the AFRC.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Anaheim that it adamantly opposes any proposed civilian use
of the Los Alamitos Armed Forces Reserve Center Airport.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and adopted by the
City Council of the City of Anaheim this 6th day February, 1979.
