A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM APPROVING THE FILING OF AN APPLI-
CATION FOR FUNDS PURSUANT TO THE ORANGE
COUNTY COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT COUNCIL GRANT
PROGRAM AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
EXECUTE SAID APPLICATION ON BEHALF OF THE
CITY OF ANAHEIM.
WHEREAS, the Orange County Community Development Council
(CDC) receives funding, in part, from the Community Services
Administration, as authorized by Congress pursuant to Section 221
of the Economic Opportunity Act of 1964, as amended; and
WHEREAS, the CDC, as the Community Action Agency for
Orange County, has a commitment to alleviate poverty through local
citizen participation and to deliver anti-poverty services in the
most cost-effective manner; and
WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim, through its Parks, Recreation
and Community Services Department, provides such services through
an existing Senior Citizens Day Center Program; and
WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim wishes to submit an appli-
cation for available, competitive funds, not to exceed $25,000,
to provide for the expansion of said program; and
WHEREAS, this one-time only funding opportui:ity will
cover an 11-month funding period, and upon completion of same,
program funds will be generated from a yet-to-be-uetermined source.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council
of the City of Anaheim does hereby approve the filing of an appli-
cation for funds pursuant to the Orange County Community Development
Grant Program.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager of the City
of Anaheim be authorized,. on behalf of the City, to execute said
application and perform any and all necessary duties to obtain said
funds and complete said program.
