1979-436BY: DEPUTY RESOLUTION NO. 79R -436 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE AND FILE A BICYCLE /PEDESTRIAN FACILITIES CLAIM APPLICATION FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 1979 -80 WITH THE ORANGE COUNTY TRANSPORTATION COMMISSION PURSUANT TO SENATE BILL NO. 821. WHEREAS, in 1973, the California State Legislature amended the Transportation Development Act by the adoption of Senate Bill No. 821 which provides that two percent of each County's total Local Transportation Fund be set aside annually and be made available to the cities and counties for facilities provided for the exclusive use of pedestrians and bicycles; and WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim has planned a bikeway system in conformance with specifications of the California Highway Design Manual and the Regional Transportation Plan, as identified in the City of Anaheim Master Plan of Bikeways; and WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim desires to construct the master bikeway system within the City of Anaheim utilizing the funds available under Senate Bill No. 821; and WHEREAS, the Carbon Creek Channel Bikeway facility is identified as a specific project within the City of Anaheim Master Plan of Bikeways. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Anaheim does hereby express its desire and willingness to participate in the proposed project for the construction of bicycle facility improvements pursuant to Senate Bill No. 821 and in accordance with procedures adopted by the Orange County Transportation Commission. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager of the City of Anaheim be, and he is hereby, authorized to execute and file on behalf of the City of Anaheim a Bicycle /Pedestrian Facilities Claim Application for the Fiscal Year 1979 -80 with the Orange County Transportation Commission pursuant to Senate Bill No. 821 to apply for all allocated funds available to the City of Anaheim for bikeways and pedestrian facilities.
