A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM APPROVING THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS
OF AN AMENDMENT TO AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM AND THE COUNTY OF ORANGE RELATING
TO RIVERDALE PARK AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR
AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE SAID AGREEMENT.
WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim and the County of
Orange have heretofore entered into an Agreement dated
May 20, 1975, by which the County provided revenue sharing
funds to assist the City in purchasing Riverdale Park, a
ten -acre site in the northeast section of Anaheim near the
intersection of Lakeview and Riverdale Avenues; and
WHEREAS, the existing Agreement states that the
Park must be retained for public parks, recreation or open
space purposes in perpetuity; and
WHEREAS, the City and County desire to amend said
Agreement to clarify that the County does not oppose a plan
to allow the lease of a portion of the property to a private
party; and
WHEREAS, an Amendment to Agreement has been prepared,
the terms and conditions of which are satisfactory to the City
of Anaheim.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the terms and
conditions of said Amendment to Agreement between the City
of Anaheim and the County of Orange be, and the same are hereby,
approved and the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized
and directed to execute said Amendment to Agreement for and on
behalf of the City of Anaheim.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and adopted by
the City Council of the City of Anaheim this 17th day of
July, 1979.
