WHEREAS, applications have been invited for proposals
under the Department of Health, Education and Welfare's Environmental
Education Program; and
WHEREAS, projects to be funded must demonstrate the
relationship of the interplay between the natural and man -made
environment to the total human environment; and
WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim's proposed Urban Forest
Recovery Program is designed, by participation, to teach conserva-
tion to selected youths throughout the City in cooperation with
various area school districts; and
WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim will be required to provide
administrative, fiscal and budgetary assistance to said program
through its presently budgeted staff.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council
of the City of Anaheim does hereby approve the filing of an
application, pursuant to HEW Environmental Education Program
guidelines, for a pilot Urban Forest Recovery Program.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager, or his
designated representative, be, and he is hereby authorized and
directed to execute and file said application for a pilot Urban
Forest Recovery Program in the City of Anaheim.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and adopted by
the City Council of the City of Ana im is h day of May, 1979.
