A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM AUTHORIZING THE DESTRUCTION OF
CERTAIN CITY RECORDS, DOCUMENTS, INSTRUI'VIENTS,
BOOKS AND PAPERS MORE THAN DTO YEARS OLD.
WHEREAS, Section 34090 of the Government Code of
the State of California authorizes the destruction of
records, documents, instruments, books and papers (herein-
after "records which are no longer required or needed by
the City, upon approval of the City Council and with the
written consent of the City Attorney, provided that said
records do not fall within certain specified categories;
and
WHEREAS, the following described records in the
possession of the City Clerk of the City of Anaheim are
records more than two years old and are documents which are
authorized for destruction under the provisions of said
Section 34090 of the Government Code without making a copy
thereof; and
WHEREAS, the City Clerk of the City of Anaheim
has determined that said records are no longer needed or
required by the City; and
WHEREAS, the City Council concurs in the determin-
ation of the City Clerk and finds the destruction of the
records in the best interests of the City of Anaheim; and
WHEREAS, the City Attorney of the City of Anaheim
does by the approval of this Resolution hereby give his
written consent for the destruction of the records herein
specified.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Anaheim that the City Clerk of the City of
Anaheim be, and she is hereby, authorized to immediately
destroy, in a lawful manner, the following described documents
under her charge without making any copies thereof, to wit:
1. Invitations to various functions and events
for 1975 and 1976 (CA -41);
2. Proclamations for 1974 and 1975 (CA 32);
3. Copy of 1975 swimming pool ordinance (CA -19);

4. Copies of resolutions, copies of ordinances,
excerpts from City Council Minutes (CA -20);
5. Special requests for exhibits, tents, booths,
and miscellaneous matters relating to churches
and charitable organizations for 1975 and 1976
(CA -22);
6. Memoranda, correspondence and resolutions from
other cities relating to pending or recent
legislation for 1975 and 1976 (CA -74);
7. Copies of resolutions and ordinances, requests,
and miscellaneous correspondence relating to
animals and. birds 1976 (CA -72);
8. Correspondence and permits relating; to fireworks
displays at Disneyland for 1975 and 1976 (CA -50);
9 Commendations for 1974 (CA -53);
10. Correspondence, reports, appointments, and
Minutes relating to Orange County Mosquito
Abatement Vector Control District for 1975
and 1976 (CA -75);
11. Annual reports, certificates of recognition,
correspondence and resignation letters relating
to Chamber of Commerce, Carousel of Anaheim, and
the Halloween Festival for 1975 and 1976 (CA -81);
12. Copy of 1975 ordinance relating to insect control
(CA -98);
13. Excerpts from Minutes, requests, transmittals
and memoranda relating to City of Fullerton for
1958 and 1959;
14. Request from Aeronutronic Division of Philco
Corporation 1966;
15. Proposal from Boyle Engineering for contractual
services 1965;
16. Correspondence relating to Crane Ambulance
Service from 1950 through 1963;
17. Proposal and recommendation from J. Barry Cooke
as geological consultant 1964;

18. Expired insurance certificates for Anaheim
Disposal Company from 1958 through 1969;
19. Correspondence, resolutions from other cities,
and summary of engineer's report relating to
1967 Orange County Flood Control District bond
issue; and
20. Transmittals and excerpts from Minutes relating
to approval of plans for Orange County Flood
Control District Projects for 1960, 1962 and 1964.
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that upon destruction of
the foregoing records, a certificate of destruction shall be
executed and the original thereof filed in the office of the
City Clerk together with a copy of this resolution.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and adopted by
the City Council of the City of Anaheim this 8th day ofMay, 1979.
