1979-641WHEREAS, there exists an unsatisfactory drainage condition
at Brookhurst Street and Sequoia, in the City of Anaheim, which
has resulted in frequent and periodic flooding of the aforesaid
intersection; and
WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim has requested correction of
the drainage problem at Brookhurst Street and Sequoia Avenue caused
by the modification of the Brookhurst Street Interchange; and
WHEREAS, the City will undertake construction of an
underground storm drain from Sequoia Avenue along Brookhurst
Street to Crescent Avenue; and
WHEREAS, the City will benefit from the aforesaid
construction project through correction of the drainage problem
at the aforesaid intersection, and the extent of the City's
participation in the construction of the project is reasonably
proportioned to said benefit; and
WHEREAS, the State of California is willing to bear a
proportionate cost in connection with the construction project; and
WHEREAS, the State and the City mutually desire to
cooperate and jointly participate in the aforesaid construction
project; and
WHEREAS, an agreement has been prepared, the terms and
conditions of which are acceptable to the City Council of the
City of Anaheim.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the terms and conditions
of said agreement are hereby approved and accepted.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Clerk
be, and they are hereby authorized and directed to execute said
agreement on behalf of the City of Anaheim.
