A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ANAHEIM REJECTING ALL BIDS
RECEIVED UP TO THE HOUR OF 2:00 P.M. ON
THE 11TH DAY OF OCTOBER, 1979, FOR THE
CONSTRUCTION OF HANDBALL COURTS AT
PEARSON PARK.
WHEREAS, heretofore, to wit, on the 18th day of
September, 1979, the City Council of the City of Anaheim
did adopt Resolution No. 79R -536 finding and determining
that public convenience and necessity required the
construction of handball courts at Pearson Park, in the
City of Anaheim; and
WHEREAS, the City Council did authorize and
direct the City Clerk to publish a notice according to law
inviting sealed proposals for the above mentioned public
improvement and fixing the llth day of October, 1979, at
the hour of 2:00 o'clock P.M. as the date and hour for the
opening of said bids in the Council Chamber in the City
Hall, in the City of Anaheim; and
WHEREAS, on said llth day of October, 1979, at
the hour of 2:00 o'clock P.M., the City Clerk and City
Engineer did open the bids received up to that hour, in
public, in the City Hall, in the City of Anaheim, and the
City Engineer did review said bids and did report the
results thereof to the City Council at its regular meeting
held on the 30th day of October, 1979; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the bids
received are in excess of the estimate of the City Engineer
of the cost of said public improvement and are not repre-
sentative of actual costs for said public improvement; and
WHEREAS, the City Council now finds that due to
budgetary reasons it is for the benefit and best interest
of the City of Anaheim to reject all bids received on the
llth day of October, 1979, and to readvertise said job at
a later date.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Anaheim that the bids received up to the
hour of 2:00 o'clock P.M. on the llth day of October, 1979,
reviewed by the City Engineer and submitted to the City
Council on October 30, 1979 for the construction of handball
courts at Pearson Park, Account No. 25- 807 -7107, be and the
same are hereby rejected, and that said job be readvertised
at a later date.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and adopted
by the City Council of the City of Anaheim this 30th day of
October, 1979.
