1979-632RESOLUTION NO. 79R -632 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM AUTHORIZING THE DESTRUCTION OF CERTAIN CITY RECORDS, DOCUMENTS, INSTRUMENTS, BOOKS AND PAPERS MORE THAN TWO YEARS OLD. WHEREAS, Section 34090 of the Government Code of the State of California authorizes the destruction of records, documents, instruments, books and papers (herein- after "records which are no longer required or needed by the City, upon approval of the City Council and with the written consent of the City Attorney, provided that said records do not fall within certain specified categories; and WHEREAS, the following described records in the possession of the City Clerk of the City of Anaheim are records more than two years old and are documents which are authorized for destruction under the provisions of said Section 34090 of the Government Code without making a copy thereof; and WHEREAS, the City Clerk of the City of Anaheim has determined that said records are no longer needed or required by the City; and WHEREAS, the City Council concurs in the determin- ation of the City Clerk and finds the destruction of the records in the best interests of the City of Anaheim; and WHEREAS, the City Attorney of the City of Anaheim does by the approval of this Resolution hereby give his written consent for the destruction of the records herein specified. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Anaheim that the City Clerk of the City of Anaheim be, and she is hereby, authorized to immediately destroy, in a lawful manner, the following described documents under her charge without making any copies thereof, to wit: 1. Cable television impact study, applications for licenses and proposed ordinance submitted by Skiatron TV, Inc. and Traveler's Television from 1957 -58 and 1972 (CA -23); 2. Miscellaneous correspondence relating to services offered from 1975 through 1976 (CA -26); 3. Departmental reports concerning claims against the City (excluding claims resulting in -1- ATTEST: APPROVED: JLW:jh litigation or involving ...lnors) from 1968 through 1976 (CA -80); 4. Miscellaneous documents, requests and correspondence relating to notice of sale of surplus school property and excerpts from controversial book from 1973 through 1975 (CA -27); 5. Miscellaneous documents, correspondence and general information relating to Subdivision Map Act requirements, public utilities and hillside grading and excavations from 1975 through 1976 (CA -20); 6. Miscellaneous documents and materials relating to employee organization elections, and corres- pondence and excerpts from minutes relating to employee organizations from 1962 through 1976 (CA -78); 7. Withdrawn or incomplete applications for encroachment permits and miscellaneous corres- pondence and documents relating thereto from 1965 through 1976 (CA -97); 8. General safety committee minutes, salary adjust- ments, retirement and service awards, salary change, rules and regulations, copies of resolutions, proposed salary settlements, miscellaneous correspondence, employee benefit bulletins and reports from 1963 through 1976 (CA -90); and 9. Miscellaneous correspondence petitions and permits relating to expired temporary sign permits and petitions from 1963 through 1975 (CA -24). AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that upon destruction of the foregoing records, a certificate of destruction shall be executed and the original thereof filed in the office of the City Clerk together with a copy of this resolution.
