A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM AUTHORIZING RELOCATION ASSISTANCE
AND RELOCATION PAYMENTS IN CONNECTION WITH
REHABILITATION ACTIVITIES.
WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim has, pursuant to Section
7260 et seq. of the Government Code (the California Relocation
Assistance Act), extended relocation assistance and benefits to
persons and businesses displaced as the result of the acquisition
of real property for public use; and
WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim is undertaking the acquisi-
tion and /or rehabilitation of residential properties pursuant to
programs formulated and funded by the State of California and the
United States; and
WHEREAS, some persons may be displaced as a result of
such acquisition and /or rehabilitation of residential properties;
and
WHEREAS, said programs require the City of Anaheim to
extend relocation assistance and payments to persons displaced
pursuant to such acquisition and /or rehabilitation programs and
authorize use of grant funds to pay for such relocation assistance
or payments.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Anaheim as follows:
A. That the City of Anaheim does hereby authorize reloca-
tion assistance and payments to persons displaced as a result of
acquisition and /or rehabilitation programs funded by the State of
California Community Development Programs and the Community
Development Block Grant Program of the United States pursuant to
either the California Relocation Assistance Act or the Uniform
Relocation Assistance on Real Property Acquisition Policies Act of
1970 (42 USC 4601 et seq.), whichever is applicable; provided,
however, that no such assistance or payments shall be rendered
or payable unless funds are provided therefor by the State of
California or the United States.
B. That the Executive Director of the Community Development
Department be, and he is hereby, authorized to approve, on behalf
of the City of Anaheim, payment of claims for relocation assistance
and which do not exceed $15,000.00 to persons displaced as a result
of acquisition or rehabilitation activities authorized by this
Resolution when grant funds are available for such payments.
C. That the Finance Director be, and he is hereby, authorized
and directed to pay such claims authorized by this Resolution when
approved by the Executive Director of the Community Development
Department.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and adopted by the
City Council of the City of Anaheim this 11th day of September, 1979.
