90-030 RESOLUTION NO. 90R - 30 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM APPROVING TWO LETTERS OF UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN THE CITY OF ANAHEIM AND THE ANAHEIM MUNICIPAL EMPLOYEES ASSOCIATION PERTAINING TO USE OF SICK LEAVE FOR FAMILY ILLNESS. WHEREAS, on December 15, 1987, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 87R-510, approving a Memorandum of Understanding between the City of Anaheim and the Anaheim Municipal Employees Association General Unit; and the city Council adopted Resolution No. 87R-511, approving a Memorandum of Understanding between the city of Anaheim and the Anaheim Municipal Employees Association Clerical Unit; and WHEREAS, the Labor Relations Director met and conferred with officials and employee representatives of the Anaheim Municipal Employees Association to discuss specific concerns relative to amending the. Sick Leave Articles of said Memoranda of Understanding; and WHEREAS, two Letters of Understanding dated December 6, 1989, between the parties have been prepared and signed amending the Sick Leave provisions of the current Memoranda of Under- standing, said amendments to be effective January 19, 1990; and WHEREAS, the city Council of the City of Anaheim does find that it is in the best interests of the City of Anaheim to approve said Letters of Understanding. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Anaheim that the Letters of Understanding dated December 6, 1989, between the City of Anaheim and the Anaheim Municipal Employees Association, copies of which are attached hereto and incorporated by reference herein, are hereby approved and said Memoranda of Understanding are hereby amended in accordance with the terms of said Letters of Understanding. SOHL, City Clerk of the City of Anaheim, do hereby certify that the foregoing is the original of Resolution No. 90R-30, duly passed and adopted by the Anaheim City Council on January 16, 1990. ~.CITY CLERK OF THE OF ANAHEIM LETTER OF UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN THE ANAHEIM FIREFIGHTERS ASSOCIATION AND THE CITY OF ANAHEIM The Anaheim Firefighters Association (AFA) and the City of Anaheim (CITY), after meeting and conferring, have reached an agreement to amend Article 52, Uniforms and Laundry as follows: ARTICLE 52 UNIFORMS AND LAUNDRY 52.1 Anaheim shall provide, on or before July 1989, two new Nomex III uniform sets, one regulation uniform jacket with cloth badge and one regulation uniform belt as outlined in the Uniform Committee's staff report dated August 15, 1988. 52.2 ANAHEIM shall pay to every employee working in a classification listed in Appendix "A" as compensation for purchase, maintenance and laundry of work shirts, pants and jackets, sheets and pillow cases the following: 52.21 Effective January, 1990, $150 per calendar year. 52.22 Effective January, 1991, $400 per year. 52.3 Effective January, 1990, the parties agree the Nomex III Uniform shall be adopted as the official uniform. Tom Kresal Labor Relations Director President LETTER OF UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN THE ANAHEIM MUNICIPAL EMPLOYEES ASSOCIATION - GENERAL EMPLOYEES AND THE CITY OF ANAHEIM The Anaheim Municipal Employees Association and the City of Anaheim, after meeting and conferring, have reached an understanding to amend Article 40.5 of Article 40, Sick Leave as follows: 40.5 An employee eligible for paid sick leave shall be granted such leave for the following reasons: 40.51 Illness of the employee or physical incapacity of the employee due to illness or injury. 40.52 Enforced quarantine of the employee in accordance with community health regulations. 40.53 Medical and dental appointments during work hours. Use of sick leave for scheduled medical and dental appointments shall require prior approval of the employee's supervisor and shall be granted in accordance with the best interest of ANAHEIM and the employee's department or division. 40.54 Temporary disabilities caused by pregnancy and childbirth. 40.55 Illness of the employee's immediate family.
