1979-756WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim desires to improve the
following streets:
Anaheim Boulevard Broadway to Ball Road
Serrano Avenue Nohl Ranch Road to 1600' Westerly
Lincoln Avenue Harbor Boulevard to Santa Ana Freeway
WHEREAS, the aforementioned streets are important
arteries in the County of Orange and of general County interest;
and
RESOLUTION NO. 79R -756
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM REQUESTING THE COUNTY OF ORANGE
TO INCLUDE WITHIN THE ARTERIAL HIGHWAY FINANCING
PROGRAM CERTAIN HIGHWAY IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS.
(1980 -1981)
WHEREAS, Article 2 and Article 3, Chapter 9, Division 2
of the Streets and Highways Code authorizes a County, if it so
desires, to expend funds apportioned to it out of the California
Highway Users Tax Fund for aid to any City in the improvement,
construction or repair of a street within a City; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors intends to, by
appropriate action, provide in the County of the Special Road
Improvement Fund for the Fiscal Year 1980 -1981 a sum of money
for the improvement of streets within the incorporated cities
of the County in accordance with the Orange County Arterial
Highway Financing Program.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Anaheim that the City of Anaheim requests, and it
does hereby request, the Board of Supervisors of the County of
Orange to allocate to the City of Anaheim, from County funds,
the amounts set forth below, said amounts to be matched by funds
from said City, to be used to aid said City in the improvement
of the streets set forth herein and for the acquisition of
rights -of -way and the specific amounts in connection with each
project are as set forth below:
$380,000
Anaheim Boulevard Broadway to Ball Road
This is a right -of -way and design project.
It is the first of a two to three year
stage project to widen Anaheim Boulevard
to four travel lanes. Following stages
will complete right -of -way acquisition and
design and the construction of the widening.

$168,500 Lincoln Avenue Harbor Boulevard to Santa
Ana Freeway. This is a construction project.
The scope of the project is crown correction,
rejuvenation and resurfacing to return the
roadway to an acceptable service level.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors
of the County of Orange is hereby requested to find that said
works and acquisition of rights -of -way as set forth above are
in the general County interest.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that by this resolution that the
City of Anaheim agrees with the basic concepts of the Arterial
Highways Financing Program; and further agrees that its share of
the cost of improvements and rights -of -way will be available for
the Fiscal Year 1980 -1981.
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk be,
and she is hereby, authorized and directed to forward a certified
copy of this resolution to the Board of Supervisors of Orange
County, California, and a certified copy to the County Surveyor
and Road Commissioner at 400 Civic Center Drive West, Santa Ana,
California.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and adopted by
the City Council of the City of Anaheim this 26th day of December,
1979.

Serrano Avenue Nohl Ranch Road to 1600'
Westerly. This is a construction project.
The scope of the project is the construction
of the southerly half of Serrano Avenue.
The improvements are to be constructed in
exchange for full dedication and grading of
the roadway by the adjacent land owner.
This is a cooperative project with a City
of Orange project to extending Serrano
Avenue to the west. The City of Orange is
the lead agency for the project.
