1979-749WHEREAS, the California State Library has available
federal Library Services and Construction Act funds for the exten-
sion and improvement of public library services both to geographic
areas and to groups of people without adequate services; and
WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim is desirous of making appli-
cation to the State of California to extend and improve library
services to the people of the City of Anaheim.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Manager be
authorized to apply for and accept federal funding as provided by
grant award(s) approved by the State Librarian, and the City Manager
is hereby authorized to sign subsequent agreements for approved
grant award(s).
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this approval does not entail
any matching financial contribution by the City of Anaheim nor does
it commit the City of Anaheim to continuance beyond the period cov-
ered by said grant funds unless duly considered and deemed desirable
for the best interest of the citizens of the community to do so.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and adopted by the
City Council of the City of Anaheim this 26th day of December, 1979.
