A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ANAHEIM URGING THE PUBLIC UTILITIES
COMMISSION TO GRANT ANY APPLICATIONS WHICH
WOULD PROVIDE A FLIGHT SCHEDULE FROM ORANGE
COUNTY AIRPORT TO SACRAMENTO VIA SAN FRANCISCO.
WHEREAS, Orange County has been designated as a major
metropolitan area; and
WHEREAS, it
growing county in the
has earned the
United States;
has now become
and
reputation as the fastest
and
the second most populous
WHEREAS, because of its tremendous rate of industrial
and commercial growth; and
WHEREAS, with the continuing importance of Sacramento
activity to business and to local governmental agencies, particu-
larly now that the legislature meets annually; and
WHEREAS, the Orange County Board of Supervisors, repre-
senting Orange County citizens, has invested a great deal of money
to expand the airport and to provide the necessary facilities for
medium and short range commercial flights; and
WHEREAS, because of the problems of over crowded condi-
tions at International Airport, Los Angeles, and because it takes
Orange County Travelers longer to get to International Airport
than it does to fly to Sacramento; and
WHEREAS, to bring much needed service and financial
return to the taxpayers of Orange County; and
WHEREAS, we strongly support the free enterprise com-
petitive system;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Anaheim that it urge, and it does hereby urge the
Public Utilities Commission to grant any applications which would
provide a schedule from Orange County Airport to Sacramento via
San Francisco. Approval is urged of this flight schedule as soon
as possible for the benefit of businessmen and other citizens of
Orange County.
