A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF ANAHEIM APPROVING THE
APPLICATION FOR BICYCLE AND/OR
PEDESTRIAN FUNDS UNDER SB-821 AND
REAFFIRMING THE ADOPTION OF THE
CITY OF ANAHEIM BICYCLE AND/OR
PEDESTRIAN PLAN
WHEREAS, SB-821 provides that 2% of each county's total
local Transportation Fund be annually set aside and used to fund
the development of bicycle and pedestrian facilities; and
WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim has planned a bikeway
system in conformance with specifications of Caltrans' Planning
and Design Criteria for Bikeways in California and the Regional
Transportation Plan, and has planned a Safe route to School
Program for pedestrians that is to provide handicapped access;
and
WHEREAS, the city of Anaheim desires to construct the
master bikeway system and the safe routes to school within their
city utilizing the funds available under SB-821; and
WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim has previously adopted the
Bikeway System.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Anaheim as follows:
1. To reaffirm the adoption of the Bikeway System in
conformance with the specification of Caltrans'
Planninq and Desiqn criteria for Bikeways in
California and the Regional Transportation Plan.
2. To authorize the Traffic and Transportation
Manager to sign, on behalf of the city of Anaheim,
applications for all funds available to the City
of Anaheim allocated for Bikeways and Pedestrian
facilities (SB-821).
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and adopted by the
City Council of the City of Anaheim this 7th day of April~ 1992.
