A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM PROHIBITING LEFT TURNS FROM THE
WESTBOUND RIVERSIDE FREEWAY OFFRAMP TO SOUTH-
BOUND KRAEMER BOULEVARD IN THE CITY OF ANAHEIM,
AT THE TIMES HEREINAFTER DESIGNATED.
WHEREAS, several collisions have occurred during the
year 1967 at the offramp connection from the westbound River-
side Freeway to Kraemer Boulevard (Dowling Street), in the City
of Anaheim; and
WHEREAS, a request has been made by the Division of
Highways of the State of California to prohibit left turns
from the westbound Riverside Freeway Offramp to southbound
Kraemer Boulevard, in the City of Anaheim, between the hours of
6:30 A.M. and 9:00 A.M. on every day except Saturdays, Sundays
and holidays; and
WHEREAS, Section 22101(a) of the Vehicle Code of the
State of California authorizes local authorities in respect
to highways under their respective jurisdictions, to cause
official traffic control devices to be placed or erected within
or adjacent to intersections to regulate or prohibit turning
movements at such intersections.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Anaheim that it shall be unlawful for the driver of
any vehicle to make a left turn from the westbound Riverside
Freeway Offramp to southbound Kraemer Boulevard, in the City of
Anaheim, between the hours of 6:30 A.M. and 9:00 A.M. on any
aay except Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Chief of Police of the
City of Anaheim be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to
place and maintain at said intersection appropriate signs desig-
nating the provisions hereof.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this resolution shall go
into effect immediately upon approval, in writing, by the
Department of Public Works of the State of California.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and signed by me
this 5th day of March, 1968.
