A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM CHANGING THE NAME OF CERTAIN PORTIONS
OF WALNUT STREET, WITHIN THE CITY OF ANAHEIM,
TO CORONADO STREET AND LA PALMA AVENUE, AS MORE
PARTICULARLY HEREINAFTER SET FORTH.
WHEREAS, on March 23, 1965, by Resolution No. 65R -222,
the City Council changed the name of Walnut Street, between
Jefferson Street and a point approximately 500 feet east of
Van Buren Street, to Coronado Street; and
WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission, on January 15,
1968, adopted Resolution No. PC68 -27 recommending to the City
Council that the name of that portion of Walnut Street from a
point approximately 500 feet east of Van Buren Street easterly
to Fee Ana Street be changed to La Palma Avenue, in order to
provide continuity in street names for the street alignment ex-
tending easterly from Jefferson Street on the west to the
Imperial Highway; and that the'name of that portion of Walnut
Street extending westerly from Jefferson Street to its present
terminus be changed to Coronado Street, in order to avoid con-
fusion and give continuing streets the same name; and
WHEREAS, after a thorough study of the matter, the
City Council does find that the recommendations of the City
Planning Commission should be approved, and that said street
name should be changed.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Anaheim that the name of that portion of Walnut
Street, from a point approximately 500 feet east of Van Buren
Street (intersection of Coronado Street and La Palma Avenue)
extending easterly to Fee Ana Street, be, and the same is hereby
changed to La Palma Avenue.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the name of that portion
of Walnut Street, extending westerly from Jefferson Street to its
present terminus, be, and the same is hereby changed to Coronado
Street.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and signed by me
this 6th day of February, 1968.
