A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF ANAHEIM AUTHORIZING THE
CLOSURE OF A PORTION OF MOUNTAIN
VIEW AVENUE AND CERTAIN PUBLIC
ALLEYS EAST OF HASTER STREET NORTH
OF LEATRICE LANE TO THROUGH TRAFFIC
WHEREAS, Section 21101 of the California Vehicle Code
authorizes local authorities to adopt rules and regulations
concerning the closure of streets or highways or the prohibition
of entry to or exit from, or both, any street; and
WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim has adopted such rules and
regulations by the adoption of that certain document entitled
"Street Closures and Prohibited Street Access" on file in the
office of the City Clerk; and
WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim has been requested to
close the following streets and alleys to through traffic, to
wit: Mountain View Avenue at a point immediately south of
Wakefield Avenue; that certain alley located approximately 100
feet north of Wakefield Avenue at a point immediately east of
Haster Street; and that certain alley located between Wakefield
Avenue and Leatrice Lane at a point immediately east of Haster
Street (said streets and alleys are hereinafter collectively
referred to as STREETS); and
WHEREAS, the City Engineer or his designee has
carefully studied said request and recommended approval thereof;
and
WHEREAS, the closure of STREETS will eliminate or
reduce through traffic from STREETS, which streets are
located within a residential neighborhood; and
WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of the public
to close STREETS to through traffic; and
WHEREAS, said closure will be in conformity with all
of the requirements of the rules and regulations heretofore
adopted by the city of Anaheim pursuant to Section 21101 of the
Vehicle Code.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of
the City of Anaheim does hereby approve and order the closure of
STREETS to through traffic.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and adopted by the
city Council of the city of Anaheim this 25th day of February,
1992.
