1967-596WHEREAS, heretofore, on or about the 2nd day of June,
1966, an action was commenced in the Superior Court of the State
of California, in and for the County of Orange, by the City of
Anaheim against Gar-Lo, Inc., United Pacific Insurance Company,
etc., Case No. 147308, for a judgment on a surety bond; and
WHEREAS, United Pacific Insurance Company, the surety
on said bond, No. 438443, has offered to settle such action and
has tendered to the City of Anaheim a draft in the amount of
$12,000 in settlement of all claims against United Pacific In-
surance Company under said bond in connection with the above-
mentioned Superior Court Case No. 147308; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that it would be in
tne best interests of the City to accept said offer and said
draft in the amount of $12,000 in settlement of said case.
NOW, THEREFORE, LE IT RESOLVED by the CitY Council of
the City of Anaheim that the offer of United Pacific Insurance
Company to settle said action on said surety bond, heretofore
filed in the Superior Court of the State of California, in and
for the County of Orange, by the City of Anaheim against Car-
Lo, Inc., United Pacific Insurance Company, etc., Case No.
147308, for the sum of $12,000.00, be, and the same is hereby
accepted; and that the City accept said draft tendered in settle-
ment of all claims against United Pacific Insurance Company under
said bond in connection with Superior Court Case No. 147303.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Attorney be, and
he is hereby authorized and directed to execute all documents on
behalf of the City, necessary to effect said settlement.
