A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ANAHEIM AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER AND/OR THE
RISK MANAGER TO ALLOW, COMPROMISE AND/OR SETTLE
CLAIMS AGAINST THE CITY OF ANAHEIM IF THE AMOUNT
TO BE PAID IS X15,000 OR LESS AND AUTHORIZING THE
CITY MANAGER AND/OR THE RISK MANAGER TO SIGN ON
BEHALF OF THE CITY ANY ALLOWANCE, COMPROMISE OR
SETTLEMENT AGREEMENTS OR DOCUMENTS RELATING
THERETO.
WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim has undertaken a
Self-Insurance Retention Liability Program in connection with
general liability and claims for damages against the City; and
WHEREAS, California Government Code, Section 935.4
provides for the authorization of an employee of the City to
perform duties connected with the allowance, compromise or
settlement of such claims on behalf of the City; and
WHEREAS, the handling of the allowance, compromise, and
settlement of certain claims for damages against the City can be
more effectively pursued and concluded if the City Manager and/or
Risk Manager are authorized to perform such duties and to sign
agreements and other documents related to such allowances;
compromises or settlements on behalf of the City.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Anaheim +~hat the City Manager and/or-Risk Manager are
hereby authorized to allow, compromise and/or settle claims
against the City or Anaheim if the amount to be paid by the City
is in the sum of $15,000 or less and the City Manager and/or Risk
Manager are hereby authorized to execute and sign on behalf of the
City of Anaheim any and all agreements and other documents related
thereto.
BE IT FtTRTHER RESOLVED that Resolution No. 81R-268 be,
and it is hereby, rescinded.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and adopted by the
City Council of the City of Anaheim this 22nd day of January
1985.
