A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM AUTHORIZING
CERTAIN CITY OFFICIALS TO MAKE APPLICATIONS RELATING TO LOCAL
MISCELLANEOUS MEMBER DISABILITY RETIREMENTS UNDER THE PUBLIC
EMPLOYEES' RETIREMENT LAW AND TO INITIATE REQUESTS FOR REINSTATEMENT
OF EMPLOYEES RETIRED FOR DISABILITY.
WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim is a contracting agency of the Public
Employees' Retirement System; and
WHEREAS, the Public Employee's Retirement Law, Government Code
Section 21023 provides that an application to the Public Employees' Retirement
System board for retirement of a member for disability may be made by an
official designated by the governing body of the contracting agency if the
member is an employee of the contracting agency; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to said Government Code Section 21023, the City
Council of the City of Anaheim desires to designate certain City Officials to
be authorized to make such application to the board.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Anaheim that the Human Resources Director or the Benefits and Information
Manager be, and they are, authorized to make applications on behalf of the
City of Anaheim for disability retirement of employees in employment in which
they are local miscellaneous members and to initiate requests for
reinstatement for such employees who are retired for disability.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the effective date of this resolution is
July 1, 1985.
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this resolution supercedes all prior
resolutions of the City Council of the City of Anaheim giving such authority
for City Officials to make application for disability retirement for
miscellaneous employees and to initiate requests for reinstatement of such
employees retired for disability.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and adopted by the City Council
of the City of Anaheim this 25th day of June, 1985.
