A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM AMENDING RESOLUTION NOS. 85R-235
AND 85R-249 BY CHANGING THE ADVERTISE, BID AND
AWARD DATES FOR THE CONSTRUCTION AND
COMPLETION OF IMPROVEMENTS AT FIRE STATION NO.
3 IN THE CITY OF ANAHEIM AND READVERTISING THE
REQUEST FOR BIDS THEREON.
WHEREAS, on the 18th day of June, 1985, the City Council
of the City of Anaheim did adopt Resolution No. 85R-235 finding
and determining that public convenience and necessity required the
following described public improvement:
Fire Station No. 3, located at 1580 South Clementine
Street, Anaheim, consisting of, but not limited to, the
demolition of the existing fire station, its fire hose
test vault, parking area and other features as
designated; removal and proper disposal of all
demolition, excavation for underground piping, conduit,
footing, trenches, etc., backfill and compaction;
construction of concrete footings and slab on grade;
construction of a single story wood structure with
stucco exterior finish, built-up roof with skylites and
higher ceiling in the apparatus room; curb, gutter,
driveway, access ramps and paving improvements;
plumbing, HVAC, finish carpentry, electrical and
mechanical; landscaping, planting, irrigation systems
and construction of concrete block wall. All work shall
be accomplished in accordance with the plans and
specifications on file in the office of the City
Engineer, Account No. O1-940-6325; and
WHEREAS, the City Council did authorize and direct the
City Clerk to publish a notice according to law inviting sealed
proposals for the above-mentioned public improvement, and fixing
the 11th day of July, 1985, at the hour of 2:00 p.m. as the date
and hour for the opening of said bids in the Council Chamber in
the Anaheim Civic Center; and
WHEREAS, the City Engineer had recommended that due to
the complexity of the above named project, sufficient time had not
been allowed for bidding purposes and that it would be in the best
interest of the City of Anaheim to change the bid opening to a
later date; and
WHEREAS, on the 25th day of June, 1985, the City Council
did adopt Resolution No. 85R-249 changing the bid opening date to
the 25th day of July, 1985; and
WHEREAS, it has subsequently been determined that due to
the lack of response, a new set of advertise, bid and award dates
be established for this project.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Anaheim that Resolution Nos. 85R-235 and 85R-249 be, and
they are hereby, amended and that the above-mentioned public
improvement be readvertised as follows:
1. That the Notice Inviting Sealed Proposals shall be
published on July 25, 1985 and August 1, 1985.
2. That the opening of the bids shall be on August 15, 1985.
3. That the award of the contract will be on September 3,
1985.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and adopted by the
City Council of the City of Anaheim this 23rd day of July, 985.
