A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM AUTHORIZING THE DESTRUCTION, BY
ERASURE OR OTHERWISE, OF RECORDED TELEPHONE
"'w"'. AND RADIO COMMUNICATIONS MAINTAINED BY A CITY
DEPARTMENT WHICH RECORDINGS ARE MORE THAN 100
DAYS OLD.
WHEREAS, Section 34090.6 of the Government Code of the
State of California authorizes the destruction, by erasure or
otherwise, of recordings of telephone and radio communications
maintained by any city department provided (i) said recordings are
more than 100 days old, (ii) such destruction is approved by the
City Council with the written consent of the City Attorney, and
(iii) such recordings are not evidence in any claim filed or any
pending litigation; and
WHEREAS, the hereinafter described recordings of
telephone and radio communications are being maintained by the
Public Utilities Department of the City of Anaheim and are more
than 100 days old; and
WHEREAS, said recordings are not evidence in any claim
filed or any pending litigation; and
WHEREAS, said recordings are no longer needed or required
by the Public Utilities Department; and
WHEREAS, the City Attorney of the City of Anaheim does by
approval of this resolution hereby give his written consent to the
destruction, by erasure or otherwise, of the hereinafter described
recordings.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Anaheim that the General Manager of the Public Utilities
Department be, and he is hereby, authorized to destroy, by erasure
or otherwise, the following tapes of telephone or radio
communications maintained by the Public Utilities Department:
Those 30 Channel Voice Recordings for the period from
November 4, 1982, @ 0700 to November 4, 1983, @ 0700
hours which recordings include, but are not
necessarily limited to, radio dispatches, dispatcher
telephone communications for customer trouble calls,
inter-office communications, crew call-out and
electrical bulk power purchase transactions.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and adopted by the
City Council of the City of Anaheim this 13th~day of August, 1985.
