1985-428RESOLUTION N0. 85R- 4 2 8 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM ESTABLISHING RATES OF COMPENSATION FOR CONFIDENTIAL JOB CLASSES AND SUPERSEDING RESOLUTION N0. 84R-57 AND AMENDMENTS THERETO. WHEREAS, the Human Resources Director has recommended in a staff report dated September 24, 1985 that the rates of compensation for Confidential job classes shall be adjusted effective October 4, 1985, and WHEREAS, as a result thereof, the need exists to supersede Resolution No. 84R-57 and amendments thereto, and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Anaheim does find that adjusting these rates of compensation is in the best interest of the City of Anaheim. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Anaheim as follows: Cartinn 1_ That effective October 4, 1985 the basic compensation plan for all officers and employees of the City of Anaheim who are now employed or will in the future be employed in any of the classifications listed below shall be allocated to the following salary schedules in the Salary Schedule Master. The City of Anaheim shall continue to pay a total of seven percent for0/em to ees working inn job uclassifications llistedl in a Sectione In of ythis P y resolution. Section 3. Employees temporarily upgraded to the classification of Word Processing Operator - Confidential shall be compensated at the lowest step in the higher salary schedule that will provide a premium of not less than 4.0% of the employee's regular hourly rate of pay for each hour worked in the higher job class during normal working hours if they are assigned to work in the higher job class for a minimum of two (2) hours of each day. Employees temporarily upgraded to this job class during other than normal working hours shall be compensated at the lowest step on the higher salary schedule that will provide an upgrade premium of not less than 4.0% of the employee's regular hourly rate of pay for all time worked in the higher job class. The "E" step in the higher salary schedule shall be the maximum upgrade premium when the "E" step of the higher salary schedule provides an upgrade premium of less than 4.0%. Such job classes shall be designated in Section 2 of this Resolution by a "U" preceding schedule numbers. Employees temporarily upgraded to the following job classes shall be compensated at the lowest step in the higher salary schedule that will provide a premium of not less than 4.0~ of the employee's regular rate for all time upgraded, if they are assigned to work in those job classes for a period of three (3) consecutive, complete work shifts or longer. The regular hourly rate of pay and overtime compensation for employees working in job classes listed in Section 1 of this Resolution shall be computed as provided in Personnel Rule 5, Hours of Work and Pay Day and Personnel Rule 6, Premium Pay. Section 5 Employees hired to work on a part-time basis in any of the classifications listed in Section 1 of this resolution will be compensated at the rate of pay established for the full-time classification. -2- Section 6. The provisions of this Resolution shall supersede Resolution No. 84R-57 and amendments thereto. AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the effective date of this resolution shall be October 4, 1985 THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and adopted by the City Council this 1st day of October 1985.
