A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ANAHEIM APPROVING THE APPLICATION
FOR GANG/DRUG SUPPRESSION/PREVENTION SERVICES
WHEREAS, the California Office of Criminal Justice
Planning, Gang Violence Suppression Program, has available funds for
gang/drug suppression and prevention; and
WHEREAS, these funds are available to conduct community
based, comprehensive, and coordinated activities to reduce and
prevent the involvement o'f at-risk youth in gangs or illicit
drug-related activities; and
WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim supports the purpose of the
OCJP Gang Violence Suppression Program which is to reduce the level
of gang violence in the community and to divert potentially dangerous
gang activity into more positive and constructive behavior.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Anaheim that:
1. The filing of an application for Office of Criminal
Justice Planning, Gang Violence Suppression Program funds, is hereby
approved; and
2. The City of Anaheim will provide a matching
contribution of 10% in cash or in-kind services; and
3. Grant funds received hereunder will not be used to
supplant expenditures controlled by this body.
4. The City Manager or his designee is hereby appointed
as the City of Anaheim's representative to conduct all negotiations,
execute and submit all documents, including but not limited to,
applications and amendments which may be necessary for the completion
of the aforementioned application.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and adopted by the
City Council of the City of Anaheim this 28th day of April ,
1992.
