A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM RELATIVE TO ANTICIPATED DEVELOPMENT
IN THE CITY OF ORANGE.
WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim has received a Notice of
Preparation for the Southwest Redevelopment Project EIR in the
City of Orange and a request for comments on the "Koll
Center-Orange" EIR, both involving areas within the City of Orange
adjacent to the boundary of the City of Anaheim; and
WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim has comprehensively studied
the Anaheim Stadium Area including analysis of land use conditions
and trends, infrastructure/service capacities, traffic indications
and market conditions and has developed a land use strategy to
accommodate projected growth within the City of Anaheim including
the adoption of an interim fee program to provide major
infrastructure/service improvements necessary to accommodate
projected growth within the City of Anaheim; and
WHEREAS, the intent of the City of Anaheim's interim fee
program is to provide adequate municipal systems and services in
the vicinity of Anaheim Stadium; and
WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim has r_ooperated with the City
of Orange in planning and annexation activities requested by the
City of Orange; and
WHEREAS, intensification of land uses in the City of
Orange in the vicinity of the Anaheim Stadium will cumulatively
add to the demand increase on local transportation and circulation
systems and other municipal services.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Anaheim
does request that the City of Orange use all planning efforts to
ensure that the cumulative impact of growth in both cities is
comprehensively examined and addressed in all studies undertaken
by the City of Orange and, further, that any potentially adverse
environmental impacts be mitigated to ensure that the integrity of
all infrastructure systems and municipal services in the Stadium
area is maintained and enhanced to the benefit of both cities.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and adopted by the
City Council of the City of Anaheim this 10th da of December, 1985.
