A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF ANAHEIM APPROVING THE
APPLICATION FOR GRANT FUNDS FROM
THE ORANGE COUNTY URBAN PARKS
PROGRAM.
WHEREAS, the County of Orange has enacted the Orange
County Urban Parks Program which provides funds to local cities
and districts in the County of Orange for acquiring and/or
developing facilities for public recreational and open space
purposes; and
WHEREAS, the County of Orange Environmental Management
Agency/Harbors, Beaches and Parks Department has been delegated
the responsibility for the administration of the program within
the County, including establishing necessary procedures governing
~ application by local cities and districts under the program; and
WHEREAS, said procedures established by the County of
Orange Environmental Management Agency/Harbors, Beaches and Parks
Department require the applicant to certify by resolution the
approval of application(s) before submission of said
application(s) to the County; and
WHEREAS, said application(s) contain assurances with
which the applicant must comply; and
WHEREAS, City desires to undertake the acquisition or
development of the following projects:
a) Toyon Park Ballfield Lights/Parking
Development
b)Yorba Regional Park Ballfield Area
Development
c) Security Lighting Improvements at Maxwell,
Twila Reid, Rio vista and Lincoln Parks
(hereinafter, collectively, the "Projects")
WHEREAS, the applicant will enter into an agreement
with the County of Orange for acquisition or development of the
Projects.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED as follows:
1. The filing of an application for grant funds from the
Orange County Urban Parks Program for the Projects is hereby
approved
2. The City Council of the City of Anaheim certifies that
it understands the assurances and certification in the
application form;
3. The City Council certifies that the City of Anaheim has
or will have sufficient funds to operate and maintain the
Projects;
4. Funds to match Orange County funds for project costs as
required shall be provided;
5. The City Manager of the City of Anaheim is hereby
appointed as agent of the city to conduct all negotiations and
execute and submit all documents including, but not limited to
applications, agreements, pa~ent requests and so on, which may
be necessary for the completion of the aforementioned Projects.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and adopted ~ the
City Council of the City of Anaheim this 23rd day of
June , 1992.
