92-250 RESOLUTION NO. 92R - 250
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF ANAHEIM AUTHORIZING THE
SALE OF EQUIPMENT TO CERTAIN
COMMERCIAL CUSTOMERS.
WHEREAS, the city of Anaheim Public Utilities
Department provides electric service to customers at standard
voltage levels, and transforms the electricity from the primary
distribution or transmission voltage levels at delivery to a
standard level required by the customer through equipment owned,
operated and maintained by the City, and located on the
customer's property; and
WHEREAS, several large commercial customers have
contacted the Department seeking to change the voltage level at
which they receive service; and
WHEREAS, if service is provided to the customer at
primary distribution or transmission levels, the customer would
then become responsible for providing equipment to render the
service usable; and
WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of the City to
sell its equipment to those commercial customers requesting
service at the primary distribution or transmission voltage
levels because such action eliminates the Departments costs
associated with owning, operating and maintaining the equipment
and avoids having to take back and warehouse equipment removed
when the customer purchased its own.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF ANAHEIM that the General Manager of the Public
Utilities Department is hereby authorized to sell such equipment
for fair market values established by the Department. Such
equipment will be sold to those customers served by the
equipment, who request a change in the voltage level at which
they receive electric service.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and adopted by the
City Council of the City of Anaheim this 15th day of December,
1992.
