_..~-- A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM APPROVING AN AGREEMENT WITH THE
UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF ENERGY WESTERN
AREA POWER ADMINISTRATION FOR FUEL REPLACEMENT
ENERGY SERVICE AND AUTHORIZING THE PUBLIC
UTILITIES GENERAL MANAGER TO EXECUTE SAID
AGREEMENT ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM.
WHEREAS, the United States encourages programs for
conserving fossil fuels when and where possible; and
WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim (the "City") and the
United States Department of Energy Western Area Power
Administration (the "United States") entered into a Letter
Agreement dated June 30, 1980, which originally expired
September 30, 1980, and which was extended by Letter Agreement
dated September 26, 1980 to expire December 31, 1980, and
City desires that it be superseded by an Agreement, whereunder
fossil fuel replacement energy service may be purchased from
time to time by the City from the United States; and
WHEREAS, City has entered into arrangements, with the
Los Angeles and its Department of Water and Power and Southern
California Edison Company ("Transmission Agents") whereunder
the Transmission Agents will receive from the United States
energy supplied for the account of the City and will deliver to
the City in accordance with the wheeling arrangements of the
City and the Transmission Agents; and
WHEREAS, an agreement for fuel replacement energy
service (the "Agreement") has been prepared, the terms and
conditions of which are satisfactory to the City Council of the
City of Anaheim.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Anaheim that the Agreement between the City and the
United States for fuel replacement energy service is hereby
approved, and the City of Anaheim Public Utilities General
Manager is hereby authorized to execute the Agreement on behalf
o.f the City.
,~_ BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City of Anaheim
Public Utilities General Manager is hereby appointed as the
authorized representative of the City with the power to designate
substitute or additional authorized representatives of the City.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and adopted by
the City Council of the City of Anaheim this 27th day of
January, 1981.
