A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM AUTHORIZING THE DESTRUCTION OF
CITY RECORDS MORE THAN TWO YEARS OLD.
WHEREAS, Section 34090 of the Government Code of
the State of California authorizes the destruction of certain
records of the City upon approval of the legislative body of
the City, and with the written consent of the City Attorney,
provided that said records do not fall within certain
specified categories; and
WHEREAS, the following described documents in the
possession of the Anaheim Finance Department are more than
two years old and are documents which are authorized for
destruction under the provisions of said Section 34090 of the
Government Code without making a copy thereof; and
WHEREAS, the Finance Director of the City of
Anaheim has determined that said documents do not have suffi-
cient value to justify retention; and
WHEREAS, the City Council concurs in the determina-
tion of the Finance Director and finds the destruction of
the records in the best interests of the City of Anaheim; and
WHEREAS, the City Attorney of the City of Anaheim
does by the approval of this resolution hereby give his
written consent for the destruction of the listed records.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Anaheim that the Finance Director of the City
of Anaheim be, and he is hereby, authorized to destroy
immediately, in a lawful manner, the following described
documents under his charge without making any copies thereof,
to wit:
1. Payroll warrants from years preceding 1974.
2. Deposit warrants from years preceding 1974.
3. Depositor Trust Fund Account receipts from years
preceding 1974.
4. Collection Officer's Receipts (COR's) from years
preceding 1974.
5. General Account Warrants - (2nd and 3rd copies)
from years preceding 1974.
6. Bonds/Coupons dated 1951-1969 (Glenn Stewart
advises these have been previously inventoried
by him and he has records of same)•

7. Closed work orders - (copies of job specs). (These
are filmed as record copies by the City Clerk's
Office and City Engineer).
8. Time Reports, years preceding 1974.
9. Journal Entries - years preceding 1974.
10. Invoice copies, Notices to Bill years preceding
1977.
11. Purchase Orders - Numerically filed copies, years
preceding 1978.
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that upon destruction
of the foregoing records, a certificate of destruction
shall be executed and the original thereof filed in the
office of the City Clerk together with a copy of this
resolution.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and adopted by
the City Council of the City of Anaheim this 7th day of
April. 1981.
