A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM APPROVING THE APPLICATION FOR FUNDS
UNDER TITLE III -B OF THE OLDER AMERICANS ACT
OF 1965 FOR THE PURCHASE OF EQUIPMENT FOR THE
PROPOSED TRIDENT JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL SENIOR
CITIZENS PROJECT AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE NECESSARY APPLICATION
DOCUMENTS ON BEHALF OF THE CITY.
WHEREAS, Title III -B of the Older Americans Act of 1965
provides certain funds to various public agencies for use on pro-
jects benefiting senior citizens; and
WHEREAS, certain Title III -B funds have been allocated
to the County of Orange Senior Citizens Program Office (hereinafter
"Program Office for distribution and sharing with various other
political subdivisions within the County; and
WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim desires to share in the
distribution of said funds for the purpose of purchasing equipment
for the proposed Trident Junior High School Senior Citizen Project
at 1800 West Ball Road, Anaheim, California; and
WHEREAS, the City is required to submit an application
for said funds to the Program Office containing certain assurances
by the City.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of
the City of Anaheim hereby:
1. Authorizes the filing of an application on behalf of the
City for grant assistance funds pursuant to Title III -B of the
Older Americans Act of 1965;
2. Certifies that the City understands and will conform
with each of the assurances contained in the application;
3. Certifies that the City will adhere to all applicable
rules and regulations in the use and administration of such grant
funds;
4. Certifies that the City will inform the Program Office
as to any proposed changes or modifications in the program or use
of grant funds; and
5. Appoints the City Manager as agent for the City to
execute and submit all documents including, but not limited to,
applications, agreements, amendments, assurances and payment re-
quests which may be necessary for the completion of such project.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and adopted by the
City Council of the City of Anaheim this 24th day of November, 1981.
