1981-537WHEREAS, the Human Resources Director has recommended in a staff report
dated November 18, 1981 that certain changes be made to Personnel Rule 7,
Appointments and Promotions, and
WHEREAS, as a result thereof, the need exists to amend Resolution
No. 63R -910 as amended by Resolution 81R -151, which established Personnel
Rule 7, Appointments and Promotions, and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Anaheim does find that the
recommended change to Personnel Rule 7, Appointments and Promotions is in the
best interests of the City of Anaheim.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Anaheim
that Resolution No. 63R -910 as amended by Resolution 81R -151 be amended to
read as follows:
Section 7.6 In the absence of appropriate employment lists, a provisional
appointment may be made by the appropriate department head (with the approval
of the Human Resources Director and the City Manager) of a person meeting the
minimum qualifications for the position. An eligibility list shall be estab-
lished within six months for any regular, full -time position filled by pro-
visional appointment. In the event that any provisional appointee fails to
qualify on the eligibility list as established within six months of his pro-
visional appointment, said provisional appointee shall have his employment
terminated no later than the close of the first complete biweekly pay period
Following an appointment from the eligibility list.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the effective date of this Resolution shall
be November 20, 1981.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that except to the extent amended, Resolution
No. 63R -910 and Resolution No. 81R -151 shall remain in full force and effect.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and adopted by the City Council of
the City of Anaheim this 24th day of November 1981.
