A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF ANAHEIM ADOPTING THE
"COMBINED CENTRAL ANAHEIM AREA
MASTER PLAN OF SANITARY SEWERS
SEPTEMBER 2006"
WHEREAS, the future needs of the CITY for expansion and capital
improvements of its sanitary sewer system require periodic updating and amendment to account
for growth and shifting population patterns; and
WHEREAS, the existing sewer infrastructure for portions of the CITY is
antiquated and may be inadequate to handle existing and future capacities expected to be
generated by the land uses permitted on the CITY'S General Plan; and
WHEREAS, changes in land uses and revised sewer design parameters make it
desirable to develop long -and short-range plans for the CITY'S sewer system; and
WHEREAS, the most comprehensive and reliable method for study of sanitary
needs required a regional approach rather than more fragmented study areas previously utilized to
determine future sewer requirements; and
WHEREAS, the Central Anaheim Area that is the subject of this study is
generally bounded by Euclid Street on the West, the CITY's Northern Limits on the North, the
Santa Ana River /SR -91 on the East, and the CITY's Southern Limits on the South, and
encompasses areas previously surveyed independently, including: the "South Central Area Sewer
Deficiency Study Second Revision January 1993 ", the "Old Town/Basin 8 Sewer Deficiency
Study October 1993 ", the "Remaining Central City Areas Sewer Deficiency Study December
1993 ", the "North City Area 1 Sewer Deficiency Study March 1995 ", the "Remaining Central
City Area 1 Sewer Deficiency Study July 1995 ", the "Stadium Area Sewer Deficiency Study
(East of State College Boulevard) December 1998 ", the "Analysis of Southern Resort Area
Sewer Study Revised April 2004 ", the "Downtown Redevelopment Sewer Study Revised May
2005" and, the "Platinum Triangle Sewer Study First Revision January 2005 and Addendum to
First Revision June 2006 "; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary and desirable to adopt the Combined Central Anaheim
Area Master Plan of Sanitary Sewers dated September 2006 on file in the Office of the City
Clerk.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Anaheim as follows:
1. The City Council does hereby adopt the "Combined Central Anaheim Area
Master Plan of Sanitary Sewers September 2006" to supersede previous sanitary
sewer surveys within the area included within the study area thereof.
2. Prior resolutions adopting sanitary sewer surveys or portions thereof which are
outside the area surveyed by the Combined Central Anaheim Area Master Plan of
Sanitary Sewers shall remain in full force and effect.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and adopted by the City Council
of the City of Anaheim this 12th Day of December , 2006, by the following
roll call vote:
