A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ANAHEIM CONGRATULATING AND
GIVING RECOGNITION TO JOHN HUARTE FOR
HIS ACHIEVEMENTS IN COLLEGIATE FOOTBALL.
WHEREAS, John Huarte lived and was raised in the City
of Anaheim; and
WHEREAS, John Huarte attended and graduated from
Mater Dei High School, which is located in Orange County;
and
WHEREAS, John Huarte attends the University of Notre
Dame; and
WHEREAS, John Huarte is a member of the football
team of the University of Notre Dame; and
WHEREAS, during the 1964 collegiate football season
John Huarte played outstanding football for the University of
Notre Dame; and
WHEREAS, as a result of playing outstanding football
John Huarte was selected as an All- American football player;
and
WHEREAS, John Huarte played outstanding football,
and as a result of playing outstanding football, he was
selected as the winner of the 1964 Heisman Trophy Award,
which is annually awarded to the outstanding collegiate foot-
ball player of the United States,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Anaheim that John Huarte be congratulated and
be given recognition by the City Council of the City of Anaheim
for his achievements in collegiate football.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and signed by
me this 5th day of January, 1965.
