A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ANAHEIM APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING
THE EXECUTION OF AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE
COUNTY OF ORANGE AND THE CITY OF ANAHEIM,
ENTITLED "AMENDMENT TO JOINT AGREEMENT TO
THE OPERATION OF TELETYPEWRITER SERVICE."
WHEREAS, the burden of all- points bulletins and wanted
information upon the teletype system established pursuant to a
joint agreement between the County of Orange and the Cities of
Santa Ana, Fullerton, Anaheim, Orange, Huntington Beach, New-
port Beach, Costa Mesa and Buena Park, effective January 1,
1956, and since then ratified and joined by Garden Grove,
Westminster, Seal Beach, La Habra, Brea, Los Alamitos, San
Clemente, Laguna Beach, Stanton and Cypress has made it in-
adequate for necessary point -to -point communication; and
WHEREAS, the County of Orange intends to provide an
additional broadcast teletype system to handle specific traffic
such as all- points bulletins and wanted information, leaving
the system established pursuant to said joint agreement free
for point -to -point teletype communications as much as possible;
and
WHEREAS, the County of Orange desires to enter into
an agreement with each of the above -named cities amending said
joint agreement to provide for an additional broadcast tele-
type system; and
WHEREAS, the County of Orange has tendered to the City
of Anaheim an agreement to be made and entered into between the
City of Anaheim and the County of Orange, as of January 4, 1965,
providing for said additional broadcast teletype system upon
the terms and conditions therein set forth; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that an additional
broadcast teletype system is necessary; that the terms and
conditions of the agreement this day tendered to the City are
satisfactory; and that said agreement should, therefore, be
approved.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Anaheim that the agreement, entitled `Amendment to
Joint Agreement to the Operation of Teletypewriter Service,"
tendered to the City of Anaheim by the County of Orange, to be
made and entered into between the City and the County as of
January 4, 1965, providing for an additional broadcast tele-
type system to handle specific traffic such as all- points
bulletins and wanted information, upon the terms and conditions
therein set forth, be and the same is hereby approved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Clerk
be and they are hereby authorized to execute said agreement for
and on behalf of the City of Anaheim.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and signed by
